Course Reflection:

This course initially had us review demographic and profile data using internet resources for the area where we live and teach. It was interesting to summarize the data and compare it to others. One of the most interesting aspects of my online classes are to read the experiences of teachers in other parts of the country and world and see what kinds of curricula and technologies they have.

The experience of researching, collaborating and writing a paper across the distance was interesting and presented challenges but proved to be a valuable experience and resulted in two great papers. I was just glad that I got to be on the "pro-technology" team.

I was in a life-threatening motorcycle accident in the middle of this course and that interrupted my study (and my life). I had to complete the coursework after Christmas in time to start the spring semester with another course. It was difficult to re-engage but the project of evaluating a recent teacher website initiative in relation to CBAM principles was particularly interesting and valuable. The grant proposal was also a valuable exercise and made me appreciate the work that went into receiving the grants our district had been awarded recently for videoconferencing equipment.
