Cup O'You Project Description After reading and learning about learning styles and multiple intelligences, this project asked us to be reflective and create a label for a can of soup that would market ourselves instead of soup. The outside of the can will have a label that represents how we think others view us. The inside label is not how others see us but how we see ourself. The labels must be done in actual dimensions for a can of soup and use graphics and drawing tools and colors to market yourself. Project Reflection I found this project very difficult to get going. I procrastinated on it for a week or so, hoping that something would come to mind. Then I finally sat down at the computer and started to work on it. I really had a hard time being reflective and trying to come up with an imaginative and interesting way to present myself. I remember having a very similar project assignment many, many years ago in a film class and struggling with it the same way. I finally asked my son to sit down and help me with it and we both worked on it for several hours and had a lot of fun doing it. He hates homework and school assignments so he had a lot of sympathy for me struggling with this one. He admonished me for not waiting at least one more day and really squeezing it in at the last minute (master procrastinator that he is). But working together was helpful and it made it more enjoyable. Once we got rolling on it, I had an easier time of it. We finished the outside one and the next day I made the inside one. I decided to use pictures of my family and house and that pleased me. Of all the projects I've had to do in school, these introspective ones are by far the most difficult for me. I guess it reflects my lower score on the Intra-personal intelligence learning style. I'd have sympathy for my students struggling with delivering certain kinds of projects based on the variety of learning styles different projects are oriented toward. Link to Cup o'You Project (pdf)
